LESSON & CANCELLATION POLICIES

We pride ourselves on having experienced and professional instructors.  As these instructors rely on teaching for their living, they need to get paid for the time they schedule lessons.  As a student, you are not only paying for a music lesson but also reserving the time that you meet with your instructor.  Please read the following cancellation policies and please understand and respect the reason we have it.

COST OF LESSONS

Lessons are charged on a month-to-month basis as follows:
($25 per 30 minute lesson)

• $100 for a four-week month / $125 for a five-week month.

PAYMENT

All payments must be paid in full before the first lesson of each month. Your receipt must be presented to the instructor before the first lesson of each month.  For new students, payment is due at the time of registration.

We accept Cash, Check, Money Order and all Major Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover).  For your convenience, AUTOPAY is also available.

WHAT IF I MISS A LESSON?

Please be considerate of your instructor.  If you need to miss a lesson, please let them or a Buchanan Music associate know as soon as possible.  However, notifying the teacher in advance of an absence does not require the teacher to offer a make-up. The teacher may do so, but is not required to.

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR MISSED LESSONS.

EXCESSIVE ABSENCE WITHOUT WITHDRAWAL

If a student misses two consecutive lessons without contacting us, it will be assumed that he/she has dropped out and will lose their lesson slot. The student will still be responsible for the full payment for the missed sessions. In cases of emergency or serious illness, a leave of absence may be requested. All requests must be made to the instructor. If approved, your lesson time will remain in place even though you are not paying for that time.

WEATHER RELATED CLOSINGS

In cases of inclement weather or unsafe road conditions, classes may be cancelled. If weather seems uncertain or you are uncertain please feel free to call your instructor.

TEACHER CANCELLATIONS

Make-up lessons or credit will be given if the missed lesson is due to a teacher absence.

DISCONTINUING YOUR LESSONS

Please give two weeks notice when you want to discontinue your lessons. We will assume that you will be continuing lessons at the end of each month and will be charged.  There are no refunds on lesson payments. Your lessons will discontinue when your last paid lesson is attended.

HOLIDAYS & VACATIONS

There will be no lessons or workshops on the following nationally observed holidays:

New Years Day  -  Memorial Day  -  Independence Day  -  Labor Day  -  Thanksgiving Day  -  Christmas Eve  -  Christmas Day  -  New Years Eve

For school age students, you are still responsible for payment of your lessons which fall on a school break.  We deeply understand the importance of school breaks and the opportunity it brings to vacation with family.  Unfortunately, students who attend public, private, parochial and home schools, in Maricopa and surrounding counties, have different dates for their breaks. As a result, your school calendar will differ from others and create confusion for our instructors. If you cannot attend a lesson due to a break, let your instructor know as soon as possible.
