CONSIGNMENTS, TRADE-INS, AND PURCHASING YOUR USED GEAR

WE PURCHASE USED INSTRUMENTS, AMPLIFIERS, AND GEAR!

Buchanan Music is always interested in purchasing gear from customers.  We research current used pricing for the instrument or item in question, and give you the information that you need to make an informed decision.  Even if we don't purchase your instrument, we will give you an idea of what the item is worth and let you decide whether to sell it on your own, consign it with us, or sell it to us.  Please remember that we only evaluate instruments in-person and never over the phone.  We reserve the right to refuse purchasing any item at any time.

TRADE-INS

Trade-ins are a great way to offset the costs of purchasing an instrument from Buchanan Music.  If you've got some gear that's collecting dust in the corner of your room or closet, bring it in when you're ready to make a purchase.

For out-of-state customers who wish to trade an item for a new or used instrument that we have in stock, you may request to ship your item to us for evaluation by calling 480-461-9161.  Shipping costs will be solely the responsibility of the customer and a return label must be included in order to send the item back should we decide that we aren't interested.  Please note that sending the instrument to us does not guarantee that we will trade or purchase it.

CONSIGNMENTS

Consignments are taken daily at Buchanan Music by the manager on duty.  We evaluate the instrument, determine a selling price based on current used pricing, and present you with a percentage that we will require to cover all costs involved.  Costs include maintenance of the instrument while at our store, insurance coverage for unforeseen circumstances, and the time that a particular associate puts into selling your item.  Please know that while in our care, your instrument or item will be properly maintained and kept in the same condition as it was left. It may actually be in better shape after our Repair Center goes through it with a fine-tooth comb to prepare it for sale.  Consignment agreements have a duration of 30-90 days so if the consigned item is still for sale at the store, the agreement will be renegotiated when it expires or the customer may pick the instrument up.

Normal consignment agreements include an inclusion of the item to our web site, BUCHANANMUSIC.NET, and a local listing on Craig's List.

We do not guarantee when or if an item, that is placed in our store on consignment, will sell.  We do guarantee that we will do our best to represent your item in our store and find it a new home.

eBAY CONSIGNMENTS

We offer to consign items on eBay as an alternative to a standard consignment.  Most items sell  Items consigned on eBay have a duration of exactly one week or 10 days (for an extra charge).  eBay consignments are a quicker way to sell an item through Buchanan Music and payment is guaranteed after auction completion, the item's safe arrival to the buyer, and confirmation of the buyer's satisfaction.  Payments are received within 7-10 days after the completion of the auction.  eBay consignments are the sole responsibility of the Store Manager of Buchanan Music, Jonathan Varo.  Jon has sold items on eBay since 1997 and has over 1000 positive feedback ratings under his belt combined through four different accounts. He will help to plan a selling strategy for your item and give you a breakdown of all costs involved.
